More Haste, Less Speed
This ancient and well known proverb has many applications, not least of which is when it is applied to the achievement of objectives.
Objectives are food for the soul. They provide us with a focus upon which to act and set a guiding path for us to follow. Their successful achievement provides a source of pleasure and can enhance both our self-esteem and our feeling of personal accomplishment. Conversely, consistent failure to achieve our objectives can have a negative effective upon our psychological health. We should be aware therefore, of the potential pitfalls that may undermine our attempts to achieve what we desire in life.

(hla) Just last Saturday on September 7th 2013, staff members and students from the Sandhya Maarga Holistic Living Academy, along with other staff members and students from the INTI International University travelled all the way into an isolated village situated somewhere in Hulu Langat (Selangor) where many of the indigenous people (also known as the “orang aslis”) of Malaysia live.

Life Is Like A Video Game
Life is like a video game. As you grow, you advance to different levels of Life. And these levels get harder and harder but with the experience and consistency that one develops from the previous levels, these levels will be easy to deal with.
And then, there are "walkthroughs and guides" in the form of religious texts. Some are centuries old and some are recent. All of them have one thing in common: to provide tips to deal with this game called Life.

Becareful Of What You Wish For!
There was a maiden in a village who earned a meager earning, working as a sweeper in an old ranch. She lived in poverty, often times going hungry for days. She had a dream, a hope. She dreamt of a prince riding on a horse, sweeping her off her feet and rescuing her from her fate.
A prince did come one fine day, handsome, well off, and well established from a far off kingdom and he did sweep her off her feet. They married and she lived in a golden castle atop a hill. But she was never happy.

The Peace Seeker
One day, I grew so tired of life that I quit my job, took out my savings and went to the Himalayas. I reached India, took a train ride, then a bus and finally travelled by foot. My goal was the highest peak in the Himalayas, Mount Kailash.
I bathed in the Lake Manasarovar and then walked slowly for days, with little food to eat, little sleep. I was exhausted, but I wanted to be at the peak.

The 'Impossible' Can Happen
'Impossibilities' may well be seen
as 'possibilities' once we have
a more in-depth understanding.
It is easy to regard the terms 'possible' and 'impossible' as accurate and inflexible descriptors of a particular event. However, much depends upon our own particular assessment or interpretation of the situation. The more information we have and the more objective we can be in assessing its relevance, then the more likely we are to be able to apply the correct name descriptor to it.

Evaluating Advice, A Ganges Adventure
ADVICE. We can all benefit from advice given to us depending on how we take it. In fact, there are times when advice is particularly welcomed and we actively seek it out. However, advice on any particular topic can only display a rainbow of variations regarding its accuracy and relevance to our own situation. We need to question and evaluate the source of that advice carefully before we decide to accept it and act upon it.

Britain's oldest student has graduated from university aged 91- and is still planning to go on and do a PHD.
Bertie Gladwin, 91, said that he had "a lot of laughs" with students less than a third of his age. Now the former civil servant is celebrating gaining a distinction in Masters in Intelligence History from the University of Buckingham - despite being more than 60 years older than his course mates.

The Dew Drop
Ah, it was good to be a dew drop.
The wind rose and the plant began to shake, tipping the leaf. Terror gripped the dew drop as gravity pulled it towards the edge of the leaf, towards the unknown. Why? Why was this happening? Things were comfortable. Things were safe. Why did they have to change? Why? Why?
The dew drop reached the edge of the leaf. It was terrified, certain that it would be smashed into a thousand pieces below, sure that this was the end. The day had only just begun and the end had come so quickly. It seemed so unfair. It seemed so meaningless. It tried desperately to do whatever it could to cling to the leaf, but it was no use.
Finally, it let go, surrendering to the pull of gravity. Down, down it fell. Below there seemed to be a mirror. A reflection of itself seemed to be coming up to meet the dew drop. Closer and closer they came together until finally...
And then the fear transformed into deep joy as the tiny dew drop merged with the vastness that was the pond. Now the dew drop was no more, but it was not destroyed.
It had become one with the whole.

The Dream Stealer
The last time I was there he introduced me by saying, “I want to tell you why I let Jack use my horse. It all goes back to a story about a young man who was the son of an itinerant horse trainer who would go from stable to stable, race track to race track, farm to farm and ranch to ranch, training horses. As a result, the boy’s high school career was continually interrupted. When he was a senior, he was asked to write a paper about what he wanted to be and do when he grew up.

A Donkey Story
One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well that the farmer had accidentally left uncovered.
The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway, so it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.
